Torah Readings

Genesis 1 - Set times will be measured by the Lights which G-D created.

Genesis 28 - Jacob is blessed by his father Issac and is sent to search for a wife.

It was during this journey that he dreamed about a ramp leading to Heaven, on which he saw angels descending and ascending.

Exodus 1 - All of the tribes of Israel remaining move to Egypt. The oppression which they experienced there caused them to multiply in great numbers.

Exodus 28 - The orders and design for the Aaronic vestments are revealed to Moses.

Leviticus 1 - These are the rules to be followed in the offerings mad to haShem.

Numbers 1 - The month following the Exodus Isreal forms its first army.

Number 28 - These are the offerings which are to be presented at set times.

Readings from the Neviim

Isaiah 1 - Call to repentance and a call to return to Justice.

Isaiah 28 - The entire leadership, from the government to the priesthood, is corrupted; they are unfit to lead and the righteous suffer for it.

Isaiah 55 - G-D promises revival; His word cannot go unfulfilled.

Jeremiah 1 - Jeremiah appointed to address the nations which were enemies of Israel.

Jeremiah 28 - The prophecy of Hananiah is very reasuring, however it was false, and Jeremiah exposes him.

Ezekiel 1 - Ezekiel is allowed to peer into the Presence of G-D and sees Him on the throne, and the four beasts which attend Him.

Ezekiel 28 - Tyre, the enbodiment of Satan, is to be destroyed and Israel will be restored.

Jeremiah 43 - Jeremiah warned Judah not to escape to Egypt, stay under the protection of Babylon, but they refused.

Psalms 1 - The blessed man produces fruit.

Psalms 28 - Plea for one of G-D's greatest works, Mercy.

Psalms 55 - The weapon of the enemy is his words and they are intended to invoke fear.

Psalms 82 - The evil judge the righteous but the evil will be judged by G-D.

Psalms 109 - YOU, who are at the Right Hand (31) will save me from my accuser.

Psalms 136 - The L-RD is consistent, faithful, credible and always present.

Proverbs 1 - Wisdom is free for the asking, whereas foolishness must be won by plotting, promising immediate gratification. Foolishness is finite, wisdom eternal.

Proverbs 28 - Even our own human wisdom is foolish, leading to wickedness, spurring suspicion, doubt and insecurity.

Job 1 - G-D lifts up Job as an example of righteousness, to which Satan replies that Job does it because he feels secure in his accomplishments.

Job 28 - Job trying to understand his demise seeks for truth and wisdom for the answer.

Ecclesiastes 1 - What eternal value can you find in this world? Paul says, to me to be alive is Jesus, but to die and pass on from this world is better than life.

Readings from the B'RIT CHADASHAH

Matthew 1 - The geneaolgy of Jesus establishes his relation as the Son of David. His miraculous birth establishes his deity.

Matthew 28 - On the first day of the week Jesus is resurrected. A plot is staged to cover up His disapperance. He commends His disciples to teach the whole world about Him, The Father, and the Holy Spirit.

Mark 1 - Jesus fulfills Scripture and establishes His authority.

Luke 1 - A letter to Theophilus documenting the history of Jesus, beginning with two miraculous births.

John 1 - John begins by establishing the Deity of Jesus, the Incarnation of G-D, and He being the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets (The Tanakh).

Acts 1 - The Acts of the Holy Spirit is documented by Luke, a sequel to his Gospel, as He comes to His Disciples and later on to the rest of the non-Jewish world.

Acts 28 - Paul is shipwrecked on his trip to Rome on the Isle of Malta.

Romans 1 - The logical conclusion of ignoring faith leads to speculation and evetually reprobation.

Hebrew 1 - The supremacy of Jesus over Creation including the divine.

Revelation 1 - Jesus reveals a message to John for the seven churches in Asia.

2 Corinthians 12 - Paul continues to defend his authority. Others judge Paul because of his weaknesses.
