I will remember... (Lev.26:45)

The reading of Vayikra (Gk. the Book of Leviticus) ends today 5-24-2008. The scroll will be put back into the Tabernacle and not read again until next year.

The entire book is about Remembrance. All of the sacrifices and Instructions for living were intended to remind us of the Presence (Shekinah) of G-d.

How often do we remember G-d? It is customary to remember Him in the exercises once a week on the first day of the week. Some remember Him on the seventh day. Others use the sixth day. Still others use every day, throughout the day.

The offerings of remembrance were prescribed twice a day. At dawn and at dusk. Thus, twice a day we established our relationship and communion with G-d. More often, if we encountered uncleaness.

No wonder Christ urged us "if you love Me keep (observe) my Instructions."

After all, He wrote them.

Shabbat shalom - peace and rest to you this Sabbath.

Danny
