This book chronicles the experiences of Isra'el wandering through the desert.
The wilderness experience begins with an accounting. All who are numbered will be dead in the next forty years.

Your new birth experience was when your wilderness expereince began. Before that period you had no struggle with sin (we just readily accepted it).
Don't make the same mistake. These "Numbers" broke faith with G-d and were never allowed to see the Promised Land. Yet they experienced the trials of the wilderness.
Learn from your wilderness experience, lest you die.
